Using Images To Enhance Your Articles

Using images to complement a social media or blog post can help to captivate initial interest and make the post more engaging. Graphics can also help with the understanding of the information you’re presenting.

When using images in my work, here are my ‘go to’ free image sites.  All of them have images that are completely free to download and use and some include paid options in case you can’t find what you’re looking for.

Pexels https://www.pexels.com/ – Free stock photos, royalty free images and videos. If you’d like to contribute your work, they accept photos and videos from everyone.

Unsplash https://unsplash.com/ – Free high-resolution photos. Attribution isn’t required, however, Unsplash photographers appreciate it as it provides exposure to their work.

Clker.com http://www.clker.com/ – Free clip art and images with editing and drawing tools if you sign up for a free account.

Freestockphotos.biz http://www.freestockphotos.biz/ – Free stock photos and clip art sorted by categories.

Morguefile http://www.morguefile.com/ – Free high resolution digital stock photographs.

Freeimages http://www.freeimages.com/ – Free high-quality stock photos and graphics. Search offers premium pay-as-you-go image options from iStockphoto in addition to the free images.

Pixabay http://pixabay.com/ – Free images of high quality. Search results also offer premium pay-as-you-go Shutterstock.com options.
